An Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowl is a quartz singing bowl created with additional gemstones, minerals or precious metals.
These materials are integrated into the bowl during production, giving each instrument its own visual character, tonal texture and combination of overtones. Because every bowl responds differently, two bowls with a similar note or appearance may still offer distinctly different listening experiences.
For many people, choosing an Alchemy bowl is therefore about more than identifying a musical note. It is also about noticing the quality of the sound, the feeling of the resonance and the intention connected to the instrument.

Crystal Tones® bowls are handcrafted from high-purity quartz and combined with selected minerals, gemstones and precious metals through a specialist production process.
The resulting instruments are known for their sustained resonance, luminous appearance and richly layered sound. Each bowl is individually made, so variations in tone, finish and harmonic character are part of what makes it unique.
All Crystal Tones® bowls offered through our studio are sourced through authorised channels and selected individually.

The word “alchemy” describes the particular blend of materials incorporated into a bowl.
An alchemy may feature gold, platinum, rose quartz, amethyst, indium, diamond or another mineral composition. These materials influence the bowl’s colour and appearance and may also contribute to its tonal character.
Within sound practice, different alchemies are often associated with particular qualities or intentions. These associations are best approached as contemplative frameworks rather than fixed medical effects. Your own listening experience remains the most important guide.

Frosted quartz bowls generally have an opaque white surface and produce a strong, direct tone. They can be accessible instruments for meditation, group sound experiences and foundational practice.
Alchemy bowls combine quartz with additional materials and typically offer a more complex tonal palette. Their sound may feel more layered, textured or spacious, depending on the individual instrument.
Neither type is universally better. The right choice depends on your preferred sound, intended use, budget and connection with the bowl.

SuperGrade is a premium classification within the Crystal Tones® collection.
These bowls are selected for qualities such as tonal clarity, sustain, responsiveness and harmonic richness. They are often chosen by experienced practitioners, musicians and collectors who are looking for exceptional depth and refinement.
A SuperGrade bowl is not necessary for beginning a sound practice, but it may be meaningful for someone seeking a particularly nuanced instrument.
